On March 28, 2003, a group of MHS '53 grads and spouses who live in or were traveling through Southern California gathered at Babe's Bar B Que in Rancho Mirage, CA  for a dinner party. 
Shirley (Smarsty) Barker, who arranged the evening through her contact with classmates using the MHS Group E Mail commented, "It appears the grads have a knack for choosing really neat spouses."  She also added, "We ate 'finger-licken' good ribs and other stuff, joked & laughed a lot while 50 years melted away.  The waitress finally asked us (nicely) to move from the restaurant area."
